PLHSFAA and Vanguard Band Golf Tournament - the best ever!

The PLHSFAA and PLHS Vaguard Band joined forces this year to organize the annual golf tournament.  Alumni, parents, and community members enjoyed special access to the Admiral Baker course and the entertainment provided by the PLHS Jazz Band at lunch.  It was a great day and a big success (even the novice players had fun!)

Overall winners of the day were:

Scott Danshaw, Justin Miller and Chris Jones

The Corporate Team winner was Southwest Airlines.

The Class Challenge winners:  '50s Foursome-   Robert Velazquez '53, Donna Freer Gookin '54, Linda Jessop Fox '55, and Don Hammond '50.

Congrats to our new reigning Pointer Class golf champs!  (Get your classmates together for next year to challenge this group!)

Special thanks to our Corporate Sponsors and to co-chairs Sally Sackett and Kathy Tappero.

Proceeds to support PLHSFAA programs and the PLHS Vanguard Band.

Pointers Tennis Courting Success

The Pointer tennis  team has 14 wins so far, including victories over Westview, S.D. Division II champs last season, and Francis Parker, Division II champs last season.  Their only loss so far is against Poway ('07 Division I champs.)

First year coach Chris Magers says "They have had more fun this season because they've had tougher matches...and they are winning!"

Led by Sophomore Zach Leslie, and Trevor Donovan the Pointers are expected to be contenders in the playoffs next month. And they expect to be even stronger next year!

PL Sailing Team wins top honors

The PLHS Sailing team won first place in the Gold Pacific Coast Championship held in San Francisco.  They also came in 2nd in the Silver Pacific Coach Championships, held in Mission BayView Pictures here

The Bennie Edens Scholarship Fund

We are still accepting donations to the Bennie Edens Scholarship fund.  This year a deserving senior will recieve a scholarship in Coach Edens' name.  We will continue to give yearly scholarships until the fund runs out....However, if we raise $15,000 we will set up an endowment that will generate funds for a scholarship in Coach Edens name for many many years.  You can help us meet that goal (we are getting close!) by going to Edens Fund

Your gift is tax deductible as permitted by law.

We can't do it without you!
