The Point Loma High School Pointer Association runs a recycling/fundraising program for used cell phones and empty laser/inkjet printer cartridges. Proceed from this program fund PLHSPA's Green Scholarship awarded each year to a graduating senior student.

Used cartridges and cell phones can be refurbished for reuse. So through this effort, the PLHSPA is trying to recycle some of the more than 400 million cartridges and 35 million cell phones that are thrown away each year. This effort keeps these items out of our landfills and helps us raise some extra cash for programs at PLHS.
